It was a fantastic experience to share the stage with Karen Sander and five other storytellers to speak on the theme: 'What was I thinking?!'  I shared the myriad of thoughts that ran through my head when I initially heard the incredible but very difficult stories of my grandmothers.

In this Q&A I answer some probing questions about why I wrote the book, some of the more difficult parts of the journey and what I might do next!

It was a great line up this year at the Kiama Readers’ Festival.  Thank you! I spoke about my incredible grandmothers and how the tales hiding in plain sight within our families can reveal what came before us and who we want to be.

In this first person piece I talk about the process of discovering the huge sweep of history my grandmothers both witnessed, and their differing perspectives given their ages, classes and backgrounds.

I just learnt the news that Stories My Grandmothers Didn’t Tell Me will be translated into Latvian and published in Latvia in the coming 18 months by Zvaigzne ABC. I am really looking forward to working with Zvaigzne ABC and taking this exciting journey!
